Pilates was founded by Joseph Pilates over eighty years ago. He named his method “Controllogy”, meaning coordination of the mind, body and spirit through the proper use of muscles and breath control.
Plyometric (jump training) exercises are used to develop athletic power. High intensity plyometric training techniques and movements harness your strength and the elasticity of muscle tissues to increase the veolocity of muscular contractions. This means you can jump higher, move faster, throw harder and generally enhance your all-round sporting performance.
Pilates is one of the best cardiovascular workouts, offering impressive results in a short space of time. Exercises can be modified to suit an individuals ability, from beginner to serious athlete!
THE MICHAEL BAILEY EFFECT
The Pilates method combines principles from different disciplines; like yoga, breathing techniques and martial arts, and consists of a unique series of controlled movements, designed to restore balance between your body and mind.
